PersonaliseSalernes, in Provence, has been firing tomettes for centuries. Its clay gives a warm, natural colour and a slight grain that changes from one tile to the next: that character is what carries your words. Solid and made to last, a terracotta tile stands on a shelf, hangs in a hallway (with the optional hanging hole) or slips into a gift box. Read the history of the Salernes tomette.
The laser does not print a colour on the surface: it darkens the terracotta itself. That is why we redraw each keepsake for engraving, a photo turned into lines, streets in strokes and solid areas, stars in fine points. The result is crisp, contrasted and readable with the naked eye, and it will not peel or fade like a poster.

The map shows the streets of the place, the star map shows the stars above it at a given minute. Both use the same text panel (date, place, coordinates), so they make a matching pair: same place, same date.
No. It is the real astronomical sky: we calculate the positions of the stars, the Moon and the planets for the minute and place you choose. Any date from 1900 to 2050 is possible, including a date still to come.
A sharp photo with clearly visible faces and an easy-to-read subject. We turn it into an engraved drawing, not a colour print, and you check the faces and the layout in the preview before ordering. You can create 5 new illustrations every 48 hours.
The hexagonal tomette (12 × 10 cm) is the traditional Provençal shape. The square tile (13 × 13 cm) gives more room for text. Both exist with or without a hanging hole (+€3).
No. The laser cuts into the terracotta itself: the engraving is part of the material and does not wear off like a surface print.
Each tile is engraved to order in our workshop in the Var. Allow 5 to 7 working days in mainland France, carefully packed. For Christmas, order by around 15 December. For a close date, write to us before ordering.
