Where We Met Engraved Map Tile — Personalised Couple Gift

Something that tells your story rather than something off the shelf. An engraved map of where you met, with the date and GPS coordinates, says it most directly: it lasts for years, stands or hangs, and costs from €18.90.

Yes. Cities, villages, beaches, mountain trails: the map covers the whole world. In the countryside there are fewer streets to engrave, so the map widens by itself to keep a rich composition, and the marker and your words carry the message. The place name is engraved in Latin letters.

You don’t have to: type the address or the name of the place, we calculate the coordinates and you choose their format, in degrees, minutes and seconds (for example 43°17'40.5"N 5°22'09.4"E), in decimal, or no coordinates at all. If you already know an exact spot, you can also copy its coordinates from Google Maps (right-click the spot, or long-press on mobile) and paste them into the search.

No, and that is intentional. Laser engraving darkens the terracotta, so the design appears dark brown on the natural tile. That is why we redraw every map in lines, solid areas, hatching and patterns, to keep it crisp without colour.

The hexagonal tomette (12 × 10 cm, €18.90) is the traditional Provençal shape: the map fills it right to the edges, with your words in a panel at the bottom. The square tile (13 × 13 cm, €24.90) puts the map above and a text band below, ideal for a date, a place and coordinates. A hanging hole adds €3.

Yes. Choose your marker: a pin, a heart pin or a heart, or no marker at all. It sits exactly on the place you chose; to aim at a bench or a corner of a beach, slide the map under the marker.

A date, the name of the place and its GPS coordinates, all freely editable: the date line can also take your own text, such as names or “Where it all began”, and you can remove the date or the coordinates. To add more text or motifs, create your map in the advanced editor.

No. The laser cuts into the terracotta itself, so the engraving is part of the material and does not wear off like a surface print.

Each map is engraved to order in our workshop in the Var. Allow 5 to 7 working days in mainland France. For a close date, write to us before ordering. International delivery times are on our delivery page.

Our maps are drawn from OpenStreetMap data (© OpenStreetMap contributors, openstreetmap.org/copyright), a free, collaborative and worldwide database, styled with OpenMapTiles (© OpenMapTiles). We then redraw them for engraving, and a label on the back of each tile repeats this credit.

Send us a photo: if it's damaged in transit or we made a mistake, we'll re-engrave it identically or refund you, even though it's personalised.

Personalised pieces can't be returned or exchanged (French Consumer Code, art. L221-28), except for defects, breakage or our mistake. That's why the preview shows you the engraving before you buy.
