A christening gift that keeps their name and the date

Which personalised christening gift should you choose? A keepsake the child will grow up with: a Salernes terracotta tomette or tile, engraved with their name, the date of the christening or the name of the church. Each piece is laser engraved in our workshop in Hyères, Provence, and prepared within 3 working days, from €18.90 with personalisation included.

A church, a cross, two birds or a few tender words: choose the design that feels right, then replace the preview text with your own. Whether you are a parent, godparent or family friend, you can check how it looks before you order. For a new arrival, see also our personalised new baby gifts.

Baptême - Église terracotta tomette, a personalised christening gift engraved with a church, a name and a date.
A design from the MyTomette collection.

The right christening gift, depending on who it’s from

Choosing well: our tips and your questions

Church, cross or a gentle motif?

Baptême - Église and Croix catholique clearly mark a religious ceremony, while Baptême - Oiseaux shows a village square with its church in the distance. For a naming day or a family who would rather keep it understated, Nuage et cœurs or Amour toujours celebrate the name without religious symbols.

A keepsake for life

The tomette stands on a shelf beside the christening photos, or hangs on the wall with the drilled option. It is a terracotta decorative piece, not a toy, so keep it out of the child’s reach. They will rediscover it as they grow up, with their name and the date of that special day.

A few ideas to get you started

The details that make the difference

  • Check the nameAccents, hyphens, middle names: copy the spelling from the christening invitation.
  • Pick the right dateThe christening date or the date of birth: decide what you want to celebrate before you start.
  • Sign as godparentA short line, such as “Love from your godmother”, reads better than a long dedication.

Your questions before choosing

What should I have engraved on a christening gift?

The child’s name and the christening date are usually enough. On Baptême - Église you can add the name of the church; on Croix catholique the text is yours to write. Always check the layout in the preview.

What is a good christening gift from a godparent?

A piece engraved with your godchild’s name and a few words from you, or the date of the christening. Attrape les étoiles and Petite merveille were designed with this moment in mind. It is a gift the child will keep in their room, from €18.90.

Is there a design without religious symbols?

Yes. Nuage et cœurs, Amour toujours and Petite merveille celebrate the child without a cross or a church, ideal for a naming ceremony or a family who prefers something understated.

How much does a personalised christening gift cost?

A personalised hexagonal tomette costs €18.90, a square tile €24.90, and the drilled option for hanging adds €3. Personalisation is included.

When should I order before the ceremony?

Allow 3 working days of preparation before dispatch, plus delivery time. Order as soon as the date and the spelling of the name are confirmed, so you have time to spare.

Personalisation and delivery

What can I personalise, and how do I check the result?

The available fields depend on the design: name, date, church name or message. The guided editor helps you fill in these spaces; the expert editor lets you rework the layout. Double-check accents and dates, then review the layout in the preview before adding it to your basket.

When should I order to receive my gift in time?

Allow an average of 3 working days for preparation before dispatch, plus delivery time, which depends on the destination. These timescales are a guide and may be longer during busy periods. See our delivery times and charges by country.

Is the design printed or engraved?

Your words and motifs are laser engraved into the terracotta in our workshop in Hyères, Provence. This is not colour printing. The grain and shades of the material can vary from one piece to another; the preview is there to help you check your layout. For a special request, contact the workshop before ordering.
