-
Hexagonal tomette
12 × 10 cm · €24.90
The traditional Provençal shape, to stand on a shelf or hang on the wall.
-
Square tile
13 × 13 cm · €29.90
A little more room for the drawing and for your words.
Option: hanging hole, +€3. Solid version to stand on a shelf or a piece of furniture.
What we engrave
- The drawing made from your photo
- Your words, if you want them: a phrase, names, a date
- Placed above, below or left out: the layout is your choice
The material
Genuine terracotta from Salernes, in Provence, with its warm colour and natural texture. The laser prints nothing: it darkens and cuts into the clay itself, in a single deep-brown tone. The engraving becomes part of the tile and does not wear off like a surface print.

“Your engraved photo” in detail
A personalised photo gift that doesn't look like a print
Personalised photo plaque: our workshop redraws your photo, then laser-engraves it in Hyères, near Toulon in the South of France, on a hexagonal tomette or a square tile in Salernes terracotta, with a phrase, names or a date. It is engraved into the clay, not printed in colour; from €24.90, hanging hole +€3.
Your photograph, reimagined as an engraved drawing
The design brings together expressions, gestures and the details that matter, with the warm colour and natural texture of terracotta. Your photo is interpreted as a drawing rather than reproduced as a colour print. Check the faces and composition in your preview before ordering.
Create your personalised photo tile
- Choose a clear photo. Look for visible faces and an easily identifiable subject. You can create 5 new illustrations in a rolling 48-hour period, and reuse designs already saved in your gallery.
- Choose your tile and your words. Pick a hexagonal tomette or a square tile, then place your text above or below the drawing, or select a design without text.
- Frame it and check the preview. Adjust the crop, check your wording and review the design before adding it to your basket. Our expert configurator offers more control over the composition if you need it.
Two terracotta tile formats
- Tomette — 12 × 10 cm: €24.90. Our small hexagonal terracotta tile.
- Square tile — 13 × 13 cm: €29.90.
- Optional hanging hole: +€3.
Prices include the tile and engraving of your design. Shipping costs and delivery times depend on your destination and delivery method. See our delivery information.

Your questions about “Your engraved photo”
Which photo will make a good drawing?
Choose the sharpest original file you have. Avoid blurry screenshots, very small faces and strong backlighting. A simple background makes the subject stand out; a little scenery can keep the mood of the memory.
Is it a print of my photo?
No. Your photo is turned into a line drawing, then laser-engraved: a single deep-brown tone on the natural terracotta, with no colour and no photographic gradients. It is a drawn interpretation, so check the faces and the composition in the preview before you order.
How many attempts do I get?
Each new illustration counts as one attempt. The dots in the studio show how many you have left, and they renew over a 48-hour period. Drawings you have already created stay in your gallery: you can go back to them and reuse them as often as you like.
Can I adjust the drawing?
Yes: reframe the illustration, adjust its size, keep the full drawing or fit it precisely to the shape, then choose where your words go. To go further, add a motif or change the font, open your design in the advanced editor. If a detail bothers you, create a new illustration or write to us before ordering: contact@mytomette.fr.
What happens to my photo?
Your photo is used to create your drawing with an AI service provided by OpenAI. It is not published in our catalogue. Your drawing and the files needed for your order are sent to our workshop for engraving. Unordered drawings are stored temporarily so you can return to your creation. Read our privacy policy.
Do I have to add text?
No. The “No text” layout gives all the space to the drawing. You can also keep a single line, or add a phrase with a date: names, “Our story”, “All together”…
What is the difference between the tomette and the square tile?
The hexagonal tomette (12 × 10 cm, €24.90) is the traditional Provençal shape. The square tile (13 × 13 cm, €29.90) gives a little more room to the drawing and your words. A hanging hole adds €3.
When will it arrive?
We engrave it to order and dispatch it within 3 working days, often sooner. Then allow 2–3 working days to a pickup point or your door in France (1 working day by Chronopost), and 4–8 working days within the EU. Transit times aren't guaranteed; the estimated date is shown next to the buy button. At busy times, we'll let you know by email if it takes longer.
What if I misspell a name?
Check the preview carefully before ordering. Spotted a mistake? Email contact@mytomette.fr within 24 hours of ordering and we'll correct it before engraving.
What if it arrives damaged?
Send us a photo: if it's damaged in transit or we made a mistake, we'll re-engrave it identically or refund you, even though it's personalised.
Can I return it?
Personalised pieces can't be returned or exchanged (French Consumer Code, art. L221-28), except for defects, breakage or our mistake. That's why the preview shows you the engraving before you buy.
Where can I put it, and how do I hang it?
Solid version: stand it on a shelf or piece of furniture. Hanging version (+€3): it has a hole to hang it from a nail or string. It's a decorative piece to place indoors or outdoors, all year round, frost included, not a floor tile.
How do I look after it?
A dry or barely damp cloth is enough to dust it. Don’t soak it and avoid abrasive products. It is a decorative piece to place indoors or outdoors, all year round, frost included, not a floor tile.
Can I have it delivered straight to the recipient?
Yes. At checkout, enter their address or pickup point: the parcel goes out with no invoice or price inside. Your order confirmation comes to you by email.
